Fender Drops Support for Fender FUSE, But the Software Is Still Available
Fender has announced that as of March 20 2020 they have dropped support for Fender FUSE software, meaning for computer support for the Mustang I-V series amplifiers. However, Fender Consumer Relations has advised at least one customer that the software can still be downloaded from these locations:
Mac version: https://www.fmicassets.com/fender/support/software/fender_software/fender_fuse/mac/FenderFUSE_FULL_2.7.1.dmg
Windows version: https://www.fmicassets.com/fender/support/software/fender_software/fender_fuse/pc/FenderFUSE_FULL_2.7.1.exe
We’re glad that Fender has not abandoned their Mustang and Mustang v.2 owners. They’re great amps with plenty of life and music left in them. Stay tuned for more information.

Hi Richard, I am about to purchase a Mustang IV v.2 Amp and I downloaded the “Fuse” software ignorer to purchase and run your patches. The current version of OS I am running on my MAC won’t run the Fuse Software. What are my options? Do you think I should still purchase the Mustang IV v.2 Amp or are there more updated options? (I plan on purchasing the amp tomorrow, Sat 7/11) Thanks
Hi Bob, the first thing I can say is that my licensees think the M3 sounds better than the IV; guitarists seem to agree too. So my first advice is to hold out for a Mustang 3.
Regarding FUSE: FUSE has always been flaky on the Mac. I recommend that you borrow a PC compatible to install FUSE and the patches. I know for a fact that FUSE runs fine on every Windows machine from Win 7 to 10.
let me know if you need more. Thanks, RH
Richard,
I have Fuse (Windows) running on my Mustang 1 v1. Will your harp patch set work on a v1?
Yes.
Is the FenderFuse source code available? I would like to see if it can be integrated with a mySQL database.
I reckon you’ll have to ask Fender.
[…] 7. Fender Drops Support for Fender FUSE, But the Software Is … […]
Can any other amp software be used I place of fuse ……. what’s the point of USB port ?????
No other amp software can be used. However, FUSE is still available, as I said in my post.
Today (31-Oct-2020) i realized that although FUSE is still loading in windows 10, it cannot do a complete backup of the amp’s patches and it freezes during backup process. I m totally convinced it is these new updates that Microsoft implemented for windows 10 that somehow prevent FUSE from working as expected
Updates can indeed wreck a piece of software. Fuse is still working on my Win 10 machines.
Thank you!
Will the above Fuse software downloads work for the Fender G-DEC-3 Amp with SD slot?
Alas, no.
Can I download to a Android device like a Galaxy?
Not so far as I know, alas. regrets, RH
Hi Matt, jut learned that there’s an Android app called Remuda that does everything FUSE does and then some. The Lite version is free so you can give it a try. wish they had that for iOS.
im so so thankful to you for this! i had almost lost hope to edit the presets on my amp because i thought the app was gone, but you saved me. thank you!
im not sure why my comment didn’t pass the moderation, so i’ll post it again.
thank you for this! i had almost lost hope to modify the presets on my amp when i saw the anncouncement that fender dropped support for the app, but thanks to you i could download it again and edit my effects. you’re a lifesaver!
My pleasure. I wish I could say that this software will survive the next upgrade to windows, but it might not. If your amp is a Mustang 3/4/5, it’s pretty easy to edit from the front panel, less so for 1/2.
oh it’s alright since i’m totally fine with what i have at this point. merry christmas to you, have some quality holidays!
Hello,
I was able to download and use Fuse on my Microsoft but it does not load on my Mac.
I would prefer it on my MacBook. What can I do?
Any pointers to where I can download the Fender ASIO Driver please?
First, is it included the install for the FUSE application? (I can’t check right now.) I don’t know of a separate link. Consider a different ASIO driver if not, like ASIO4ALL.
Hey guys, hope you’re doing well. I would like to know if anybody has the update files for the Fender GDec 3 amp. It seems like the page has been discontinued, just as they did with the FUSE page, and now I cannot find nor the firmware updates or the different versions files. If you could help me with those files or a repository it would be awesome. Thank you very much!
Hey guys. Posting again because I don’t know how the moderation works… I would like to know if anybody knows where to find the update files for the Fender GDec 3 amp. It seems like the page has been discontinued, and now I cannot find nor the firmware updates or the different versions files. If you could help me with those files or a repository it would be awesome. Thank you very much!
Sorry, I don’t know where resources for the GDEC can be found.
Hello Richard,
Sorry to bother you here… A couple odf days ago, I purchased your patch kit for Mustang 3 V2 thru paypal. When I clicked on the download button, it said something like Payment not “something” . Later I received the receipt of payment, but I can’t find any download for me.
Can you help me with this, please.
Thanks!
Jeff
Hi Jeff, thanks for the heads-up. We’ve sent the patch set. Apologies for the inconvenience.
There is an android app called Remuda.. does what fuse did..
I bought a cheap android phone ($31) and loaded Remuda on it. It works as advertised. I figured out how to migrate single patches from my FUSE backups to Remuda, but it apparently uses a different file format for full backups, so can’t migrate those to it.
Hello RH,
My mustang iii v2 has firmware 2.1. What am I missing in the 2.2 firmware update? Is it worth the hassle to download. I tried using fuse on my older toshiba lt, but it only redownloaded v 2.1. I’m not to tech savvy, what’s the best option to get v 2.2? Thanks.
I don’t know. I’ll have to look for it. Stay tuned.
Hi LM, here’s where uou can find the software: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vhEMYr-4R2BHuRyM-0nygLk4iFjWwOkZ. From what I read, 2.2 doesn’t add much to 2.1, although some of the reverbs have been updated. The consensus seems to be that a Mustang running 2.1 firmware sounds just like one running 2.2.
Hello Richard,
do you have any idea why my amp is not recognised in fuse application. (in left bottom corner it says: ampplifier not connected) I have Fender Mustang 1. When i connnect the amp to computer by usb cable also nothing happens? Thank you
Have you installed the ASIO driver for the amp?
Fender G-DEC3 Thirty i need a recovery disc to see if it is possible to buy? Band Missing Fuse not Working? this is the only way to make the amplifier ring! Restore CD DVD disk…
Hello,
I can not install it on my MAC, OSBigSur (XI) do you have any ideas why ?
Thank You.
FUSE never worked well on the Mac, at least not if my experience is common. If this is a recent release of Mac OS, it’s possible that FUSE won’t run on that OS. alternatives: use a windows PC; use an Android device and the software described elsewhere in these comments.
OK thanks Richard.
Perhaps macOS Mojave 10.14 or High Sierra 10.13 are the last OS versions that will run FUSE on Mac. I think FUSE is 32 bit, and so won’t run on Catalina 10.15 or Big Sur, 11.1 which are 64 bit only.
I know that FUSE runs on Win 10, because that’s how I run it, on two different machines. We also know that there’s an Android app called Remuda that does everything FUSE does. Does a Chromebook run Android? I’m going to check it out. Anyway, worst case is either 1) buy a Win 10 device that will run FUSE or an Android device that will run Remuda, or 2) manage the Mustang from the front panel, which isn’t horrible on the Mustang 3, but then you won’t be able to back it up.
… or stick to Mojave on your mac. A lot of older software won’t run OK on Catalina and newer. Fuse is running fine on my mac Pro, even working concurrently with using the USB port of a Mustang II V2 to record the guitar a into Logic Pro 10.5.1.
can you still get presets anywhere
Has anyone been able to get their gdec 3 30 working? I’m trying to restore the backing tracks but I can’t find anything on the internet that would help!
so why cant i get Big Fuzz or british Watt to work on the latest version? says they are incompatible and replaced by british 80’s?
thanks
Latest version of what?
Is there any way to restore band tracks on a gdec 3?
Don’t know. Regrets, RH
FENDER just made a huge mistake, the MUSTANG V and V2 are awesome amps. All of those FUSE patches are gone now! That in and of it self is like burning down a towns LIBRARY. All those tones are now gone forever, FENDER should have given people more notice, I think it was wrong of them to hit DELETE on a community in the middle of world wide pandemic, as I am just now finding out about FENDERS actions to pull the rug out from under MUSTANG V fans. Thanks to FENDERS stupidity and ignorance an entire community is left scrambling to find patches, updates, and tones from others in the community. Its bad enough YT is deleting entire music library’s as well, and now FENDER is doing the same thing! There’s a channel on You Tube called IN THE BLUES run by Shane Diiorio who with help of the MUSTANG V FUSE COMMUNITY, has some tones and patches available on his website if your like me and others who are left reeling and scrambling to save and preserve what they can from the MUSTANG V FUSE community. You can find those here at this link; https://guitarpedaldemos.com/fender-fuse-mustang-v2-archive/
This should stand as a warning in the future that when you invest in FENDER SOFTWARE based products that they are NOT FUTURE PROOF. Be sure that you save all your data in a reliable cloud or storage device, because it is obvious now that FENDER cannot be trusted nor relied upon to do that for their customers and fans. What an epic cluster fail on FENDERS part.
